This is a 19th century Northern Plains Souix beaded tobbaco or possible pouch. It is in excellent condition with a stitch or two missing on the strap and a couple od stitches missing on one side. It is brain tanned hide and measures about 10 to 11 inches long and about 4 5/8 inches wide. The handle is fully beaded with greasy yellow , blue , and a dark green seed beads with the field being beaded with red whit and blue seed beads. It looks to be sewn with old cotton cloth and there is a old stain at the top left corner. The stitch is a lasy stitch and there is no teres or rips or holes of any type on this bag.
