This is a beautiful and large North American Indian Acoma Pueblo pottery olla. It is in perfect condition with no damage or cracks at all. It measures about 6 inches tall by 8 1/2 inches wide and is done in a black & white and very busy stylized bird design with water bugs and checkered board fine line design. The bottom is inverted and this pottery olla comes with a note written in 1949 stating that this pot was bought from Charles Wright in june 1907 while this person was on her honeymoon in New Mexico. There is a red slip on the bottom and on the inside rim area and when you lightly tap it with your finger nail it sound out in a beautiful ring. The note written in 1949 comes with the pottery olla and the white back ground is more a dirty cream color as it has discolored over age and from being handled.
