Description:
I am delighted to offer this very comfortable and solidly made George III style upholstered open armchair!
Beautifully made from mahogany, the arched back has been padded with horsehair and cotton wadding and reupholstered in a very chic satinised mushroom, chocolate and cream stripe on a cotton background. The wide and comfortable seat, which has a serpentine apron, has had the same makeover and to the sides there are lovely swan style arms. This all leads to square tapering legs to the rear and straight legs to the front, married by front and rear stretchers.
Condition: Commensurate with age and usage; no worm or wobble; very warm and rich patina.
An elegant piece that will look great in just about any room, but would certainly be perfect for a smart home office, library or your lounge!
