I am offering an original early 1900’s cast bronze single dog Porthole. It was built in the U.S. and mounted on a small to medium sized boat. It appears to be basically complete and has several layers of red lead, gray paint, and verdigris (corrosion) on the bronze. The porthole measures 9½" x 2½", with a 7" hinged door, and weighs 6 pounds. It features a threaded (3/8" x 18) 2½" swivel dog assembly, with the original wing nut. The front side of the main housing is signed with an interlaced "WC" which is the Trade Mark for the Wilcox Crittenten Company plus a "6" which identifies the size of the opening This nautical artifact is a great example of U.S. maritime history.
