ANTIQUE WHITING GEORGIAN SHELL 15" STERLING CANDELABRA

You are bidding on a pair of ANTIQUE FRANK WHITING GEORGIAN SHELL 15" STERLING CANDELABRA.  Each are a stunning 15 inches tall and have a huge base diameter of 4.5". Unlike most modern candlesticks, they are very heavy and weigh about 5 pounds together! They have great roped banding on the base, and 12" wide arms with dripholders. The arms are beautifully ribbed and contoured. There is also roped banding around the circumference of the cups. Also, these are convertible, a mark of fine craftsmanship. You can use candlesticks in the base & riser only and they are 10" and look quite classical!   Very elegant where the full candelabra effect isn't needed. This set is in very good to excellent condition with little normal usage wear, no major dings and no monograms. One base has three shallow dings as shown, not realy noticeable. They have been lightly polished and are bright and shiny. Each are marked “FRANK WHITING STERLING GEORGIAN SHELL weighted & reinforced 269”. These rarely come up for auction, don't let them get away. NOTE- one image compares this set to a popular Gorham Puritan 808, which it dwarfs.
