Since its founding in 1886 the Thomas Strahan Company has been known for producing fine reproduction wallpapers. Their historic factory was recently demolished and unfortunately this pattern is not currently in production. This coloring was only printed ONCE and was not included in the last Strahan collection.
Reference: Oman, Charles C. and Jean Hamilton. Wallpapers; an International History and Illustrated Survey. New York: Abrams, 1982. This pattern is similar to an English wallpaper printed circa 1880-1890 by Shuffrey & Co., illustrated as figure 387, page 178. Another version is illustrated in Lynn, Catherine. Wallpaper in America From the Seventeenth Century to World War I. New York: W. W. Norton & Company, 1980. Pages 434-435, Color plate 91.
SPECS:The wallpaper is packaged in double roll bolts. A double roll bolt is 20 1/2 inches wide, 15 yards long, and would cover about 60 square feet. This pattern has a 20 1/2" vertical repeat and is a straight across match. The wallpaper is un-pasted, pre-trimmed.
All of my inventory is new-pristine condition, all from the same dye lot. Absolutely first quality, NOT seconds.
SAMPLES:Just click on the "ask seller a question" link near the top right of this listing, and email me with your NAME and MAILING ADDRESS. I will be happy to send out an actual sample swatch via US Mail.
I always politely refuse to "describe" colors: what I call red you might call crimson, burgundy, scarlet, maroon, etc, etc.
BUY-IT-NOW:Although the price is for ONE double roll bolt, when you enter your bid, you will indicate the precise quantity you would like to purchase.
SHIPPING:Within USA, $9 for the first double roll, and $3.50 for each additional double roll.
Payment must be received within 10 days of the end of the auction. Shipping & Handling to be paid by winning bidder, insurance extra.
If you don't hear from me within about 24 hours after the conclusion of the auction, it is probably because YOU have an invalid email address registered with Ebay. Remember, you MUST have a valid, current email address registered with Ebay in order to place a bid!
Your balance should be self-explanatory at the end of the auction.
