A rare addition to your fine Vintage clothing collection... or ladies, for the woman in you!
Here is an exquisite mantel / collar from the Victorian Era (1890's - 1900's).
Transparent black silk faille (tulle net backing) is accented by the most divine hand beading we've seen! Fine french jet beads, glossy rich black sequins, and five large 1" faceted glass buttons. The motif is mainly scrolls accented by a 1 1/2" fringe that sways gently with motion.
This would look absolutely phenomenal worn on a variety of colors and materials. Picture it over a slinky emerald satin dress or peach silk camisole!
Such a large and impressive piece - rare for handwork of this quality. Measures approximately 20.5" long and 15" wide when laid flat. It is 8" long from the neckline with an additional length of 1.5" fringe. 7" long from the back neck opening, plus an additional 1.5" of fringe.
Vey heavy!
Piece is fit to cling to the body and is secured by 5 hook and eye closures. It is in very good condition with no rips, tears, or holes to the tulle. It is missing four pieces of fringe on the front and a sporadic bead here and there. Really, these flaws are only noticeable when closely scrutinized. Usually these pieces require a large amount of restoration work due to their fragility, but this is ready to wear! 7z sh 2L
