Jeweled Glass Parlor Oil Lamp Shade with Handel Fitter. Opaque white glass with pink ground and hand painted green acanthus leaf scrolling accented with gilt outlines, further enhanced emerald green glass jewels, simply beautiful and of very high quality. No question this shade would have been fitted on a Lamp of prestigious manufacture. The shade has an overall diameter of 14 inches, a height of 7 ¾ inches and a fitter rim with a diameter of just over 11 ¾ inches. It is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. The brass shade fitter it was found with is included, we are informed this was made by Handel but it is marked only “Pat. May 29. 06” The shade fitter has holes for hanging prisms to around its circumference and the lamp fitter ring appears to have been modified for electric wiring. It measures 3 ½ inches deep and just under 12 inches in diameter. See my other auctions now for a variety of Antiques, Collectables and Treasures.
