Great Christmas Gift !!!
This Sculpture was carved from a log with beautiful natural colorations which can be seen in the wood.
This very large sculpture is 52" high, has a 21" diameter, and weighs 110 lbs.
Hello, this is an original wood sculpture that I designed and carved in my studio. The entire sculpture is carved out of one piece of solid wood including the eyes. The medium used was a dry White Pine log. I sculpted it by hand using chainsaws for 95% of it, and the remaining detailing with grinders. All of the color on this sculpture has been burned on with a torch for a more natural look. No paint or stain has been used. I then prepared the wood with a couple coats of a penetrating oil-base finish, and then hand brushed on a few coats of a top quality U.V. resistant Spar Urethane with a "Satin" sheen. This sculpture can be kept inside or out. Just as no two sculptures are exactly the same, no two pieces of wood are the same either. Every log has it's own naturally occuring wood grain color, and may have divets, knots, and checks/cracks in the wood. This all adds to the natural rustic beauty of the wood. Besides the fact that I only use dry logs which minimizes checking, I also made a stress/expansion relief cut towards the back of this sculpture to help relieve any possible stress in the log as the wood expands and contracts through the seasons. This way, most of any expansion in the wood is directed to this cut, and helps to minimize if not eliminate any possible cracking in more undesirable locations. Carving care information is supplied with every sculpture purchased. No casts or replicas of this sculpture have been made. There is a hand made aluminum plate with brass nails attached on the back of the base with my hand engraved signature and year. A signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity comes with sculpture. Please email me if you have any questions. God Bless you, Clint Wickman
NOTE ON SHIPPING COSTS FOR THIS SCULPTURE~ I will not make a penny on shipping this sculpture. In fact, like all of my sculptures, I will cover some of the cost myself. I never charge for any time or labor, and on this sculpture I am only charging 15.00 which is already included in the shipping costs to help cover the cost of the packing materials. It will take approx. 45 minutes, and cost me 30.00 in packing materials just to pack this sculpture. All of my sculptures are very well packed and you can go back and read many of my feedbacks testifying to this. I use only the best materials and methods for packing. This is not quick or cheap, but my number one concern is that the sculpture reaches it's destination in perfect condition. I have lots of experience in shipping, and have literally shipped out hundreds of sculptures with 99% arriving in perfect condition. You can chose the optional insurance to fully cover the sculpture for the rare chance of damage if you want.
