Hallamarked Cased 18K Gold Thimble

Condition: Excellent to near Mint
Description: This great cased 18k gold thimble has a finely carved flower pattern border
and a above band engraved with small stars.
The thimble was especially made as a personal present
and bears the wording *C.D/ M.D/ 16 MAI 1866* engraved in nice Italic letters.
The thimble is in near mint condition with no holes, damage or restorations
and its diameter is about 1,7 cm – 11/16”. It weights nearly 4.60 gr a
nd is stamped with THE FRENCH EAGLE’S HEAD GOLD HALLMARK used in PARIS since 1838.
It is in a cardboard thimble case that has its original soft cotton bottom lining.
The case is in very good condition showing just a little bit of wear but no serious damage
