Hi Folks:

This offering is for an exceptionally nice AM - FM - Shortwave Zenith Trans-Oceanic.
This D-7000Y is the last series of these great radios that were made in the USA.

Zenith's founder, Cdr. Eugene F. McDonald, Jr. is credited with building the first
truely portable radio in 1924. He introduved the first Trans-Oceamic in 1941.
The D-7000Y was manufactured in Chicago, Illinois from 1973 through 1978.
The Trans-Oceanic saw many improvements since its introduction and the
D-7000Y represents Zenith's finest effort in their commitment to building these
reliable, high quality radios.

Here's why I believe the D-7000Y is the finest portable shortwave receiver ever built:
Excellent sensitivity and selectivity.
Rich, satisfying tone quality.
Rugged and reliable all metal, hand-wired, 500MDR70 chassis.
18 commonly available transistors, each in its own plug-in socket.
No proprietary IC's, etc. which are often no longer available as service parts.
Exceptionally long battery life.

This particular D-7000Y has obviously received little use and lots of care.
It is unrestored and completely original. It plays and displays proudly.
Other than some light surface scratches in the aluminum trim, the set is pristine.
There are no dings, dents, cracks, pitting or corrosion as is often the case with these sets.
There is no wear to the flash chrome around the dial escutcheon.
The antenna is PERFECTLY STRAIGHT.
The dial drum is not warped.
The dial drum and chart lights work.
All switches, functions and tuner work quietly.
All bands receive with excellent sensitivity.
The battery box appears unused and the battery tubes are present.
The ORIGINAL AC Cord and Owner's Manual are also included.
The Logs & Charts is perfect with no written entries.

There are 11 total bands: AM - FM - Long Wave and Tunable VHF Weather.
Short Wave bands cover: 1.6 MHz to 3.4 MHz, 3.5 to 9.0 MHz, 9.4 to 10.1 MHz,
11.4 to 12.3 MHz, 14.6 to 15.8 MHz, 17.2 to 18.4 MHz and 20.6 to 22.4 MHz.

There are those of you who know what I mean when I say: "This is a good one".
If you have been looking for a nice, original, unscathed D-7000Y, this is the set for you.

PayPal and US Postal Money Orders are accepted as payment.

Thank you for looking and good luck bidding.
