Antique dictionary stand? Legs and shelf appear cast iron. Shelf reads "Giffen & Giffen Chicago" I've owned this for probably 30+ years and had an old dictionary displayed on it. But it may have been meant for a Bible or possibly music? Unique and clever design. Legs appear riveted together and can swivel. Center tube is positioned in the legs, then the shelf screws on to secure the stand!Spring loaded wood supports open and close. Right wood had been repaired ....before I owned it. Left wood where the black in the picture is, is some type of sticker. Difficult to read but can make out some words. With a book being displayed they're unnoticable. I'm not real knowledgable of this piece so I have included several photos. Any questions ask, or if you can supply any information I'd appreciate it.
