"Native American Beaded Moccasins"
- Beautiful pair of plains beaded moccasins in good condition !
- I purchased this pair 20 years ago from a private collector sale in Colorado Springs, CO, from the Pettigrew Auction Company .
- I am selling them to downsize my collection to fit into a smaller space I now live in.
- The pair have great symmetry in the beadwork and retain great color given the age.
- I believe this pair is from around early 1920 to 1940 and possibly made for tourism trade or ceremonial use.
- They are 10" long and the size of the seed beads used are a 10 or 12 . The beads for the design were first sewn onto a piece of beige linen and then this was sewn down onto the brain tanned leather uppers.
- Good condition given the age and use . You will see areas of bead loss and this pair would be best displayed in a case.
