CIRCA 1890's FULL BODIED TIN RUNNING HORSE WEATHERVANE GREAT SURFACE

This offering is for a wonderful circa 1890's to 1900 large full bodied tin Running Horse Weathervane. The vane measures app. 14½" in length by 10½" in height and it features the original black painted surface. This wonderful early weathervane would have originally been mounted on a simple straight iron rod, as you can see the rod is not included. Most likely the fact that he became seperated from the rod accounts for the very nice condition of the original painted surface. The horse is made of two halves soldered together and has an app. thickness of 1½". There are no bends or breaks and the feet seem to be solid enough to allow remounting to a rod or display platform to be no problem. The vane has some small bits of surface rust and oxidation as well as a few areas of worn or flaked paint that give the horse a wonderful look and surface. The beautiful original full bodied Running Horse Weathervane will make an excellent addition to someone's collection, should'nt it be yours!!!
