You are bidding on a very rare antique Steamer Trunk, made by the Parkhurst and Son Trunk and Bag Company of Bangor, Maine. The trunk is all original with original key. Includes the very hard to find interior trays. Trunk is made of canvas over wood. Thick 2" wide oak wood staves. Beautiful brass trim. Iron bound with leather straps. Castor wheels. Trunk measures 34 ½" wide. 21 ½" deep. 24" tall. I bought it from the original owner in New Hampshire where it belonged to the woman's great grandmother. Original yellow lithograph liner inside with logo that reads " P & S Trunks that Wear Everywhere". Trunk has been kept in beautiful condition, no musty smell. It will make a fabulous addition to any collection or would make a great piece of furniture. Parthurst was established in 1866, so I believe the trunk is from the mid to late 1800's. This is probably one of the nicest trunks I have seen in over ten years, it has been kept in beautiful original condition. A true piece of Americana.
