Antique real Hazelnut Etui Fitted
with Miniature Silver Sewing Tools

Description: Extremely rare etui made from a real hazelnut shell
fully fitted with silver miniature sewing tools. France C1870.
The hinged silver mounts open to reveal a fully-fitted interior consisting of:
silver needle case, bodkin, thimble and silver scissors.
The Thimble is hallmarked but the stamp is really small so difficult to see.
The inner side of the lid is satin lined. Each item slips neatly
into its own custom made slot and remains in excellent condition.
The hezelnut has its original interior and it closes snugly and safely.
The hinged silver mount is wonderfully engraved with floral scroll pattern.
It measures a tiny 0.6” – 2,2 cm high by 1 nearly 0.55” – 2 cm wide closed
