Lovely gilded sterling silver repousse floral necessaire. Inlaid rosewood box. Dates to the mid-19th c. - hallmarked on the needle case with what I think is a French mark. The gilded scissors are slightly pinker than the awl and needlecase, but are definitely part of the set. The awl is a bit pressed in (hardly noticeable) and something rattles inside. The bodkin, is 14K gold. The set is missing a thimble. The box is in beautiful condition, and hinges are perfect, but it doesn't lock (the tongue doesn't catch inside the hole, but button does have spring action, so I'm assuming it's a matter of adjusting something inside). Case measures 5" long and 2 9/10" its widest. Scissors measure 3 3/4", Needlecase 2 3/4", Punch 3", and needle 2 1/4". The little fabric loop that holds the needle in place is missing, so needle moves around. The box lining is dark blue velvet and silk, with rope around top. The case itself is gorgeous, with stunning inlaid wood scrolls around an unengraved silver cartouche, and the same inlay framing the top and bottom of the case.
