So far, each year we’ve visited the Ilimaussaq Complex we make at least one new find. This year we made several. This is one of the major finds this summer from high on the Taseq Slope.
The primary mineral is chkalovite - fluorescence ranging from blue to green, with delicate veins of bright red tugtupite throughout. Towards the outer boundaries there are areas of bright orange FL sodalite topping off a display of color unique to this variety.
At the top is an area of green fluorescence from a yet unidentified mineral (could be chkalovite also, but there seems to be a definite zoning between the blue FL chkalovite and the green material).
The pastel colors that dominate this piece create yet another new color combination from this very prolific area on the Taseq Slope.

- Shipping Methods: All items are shipped via USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation ( International usually by Priority Mail). Items are shipped on Tues or Thurs of each week, after payment has been received.
- Pictures and Representations: All images are shown with every attempt to render the colors as accurately as possible. Size measurements are approximate - not responsible for measuring errors. Please refer to sizing images for a “real world” representation of the actual size of the piece. Most images are enlarged to show detail. Please refer to sizing pic for a sense of the size of each specimen.
- Returns: We will gladly accept returns within 3 days of receipt of your item. Item must be returned to us undamaged, postage prepaid. Please contact us prior to returning any item.
