Here is your chance to own a genuine copper and
brass US Navy MK V 12 bolt helmet. I have done extensive research to insure this
is the real deal. Read all the warnings from a variety of online sources. This
helmet weighs about 55 pounds and is about 21 inches tall. I have noted 3
discrepancies 1. The nameplate is missing. 2.The communication module is loose.
3. One of the 12 wing nuts is missing. On the positive side we think it may be a
Morse, no vintage, but the guy I got it from said his dad got it in the 60's.
There is a USN inspectors mark on the front edge of where the bonnet connects to
the breast plate. The Later exhaust valve has the BTE logo stamped on it. The
chin button is intact and functional. Almost all of the original tinning is gone
and it has been cleaned and polished. The buyer is responsible for shipping and
insurance. Matching serial nos. on hat & Breast 364. This is a Desco Jun
1943.
