Here is a most rare Art Deco Antique motion lamp...

from My Personal Collection

vintage 1930's

Venice Italy w/ Gondolas

in the Moonlight

Made by: Rev-o-lite Corp. Chicago, Ill, USA

This motion lamp is featured on page 38 in the Collectors Guide of Motion Lamps, By" Sam and Anna Samuelian

here is some of what they say in the guide about this lamp: "With quality construction matching the fine pagoda shapes scene-in-action  lamps, Rev-o-lite produced lovely pieces in the 1930s...go out and try to find surviving examples..in general, they are much harder to locate than other lamps produced in the same time period, so prize those you capture!"

This neat Art Deco copper finished  Motion Lamp from approximately 1930 features  lovely evening scenes of the canals of Venice Italy ! There are several different types of gondolas which are silhouetted in front of the grand buildings behind them, which are on a seperate inner shade.. the colors are warm and the details are wonderful.

When turned on, this lamp begins moving, making the gondolas move around the lamp..  It is absolutely a treasure, and one you will want to hold on to and pass down from generation to generation..

This round lamp  measures 8 inches tall by 5  inches wide. It is solid metal construction! It is a wonderful size for mantle, shelf or executive desk..

The Art Deco Styling is also fabulous!

The lamp contains all it's original parts.  gondola shade picture is in wonderful condition with excellent intense black color.  Spinner is in very good condition with original bearing. It spins great from heat of low watt clear bulb. Frame/housing is sturdy and solid, but does show some age wear, like the brass finish has some slight corrosion, which I do not know how to correct, but it kind of adds to the antique look, brass polish might really make it look much better, is sold as-is. I tend to leave my lamps as I bought them...  The cord and plug are original, and I would definitely replace for safety , but as lamp is 100% original I will leave it as it is, it does work well! The switch on lamp also works very well. Other than the finish wear, and one very tiny dent in lip of top, this lamp is in excellent working condition.

For a lamp that is about 80 years old, it looks good and works great!!

The colors are lovely, and the art looks very impressive whether on or off..

If you want a true antique art deco peice of art that is also living art, this fine rare picture will be the best conversation piece you own! Everyone will comment on it when they see it, and will be amazed to see your antique lamp come alive when it is on and in action!

Please ask any questions you may have affecting your desire to own this fine lamp before you bid. I welcome all comments as well.

This lamp is estimated to sell at LIVE ORAL AUCTION for $500-$800

As usual, we will start bidding on this wonderful lamp ridiculously far below actual value, and there will be No Reserve, as we prefer to allow our buyers to decide the final value of our antique lamps, so bid early and have fun!

Check my feedback! I buy and sell with integrity.
