Dietrich Reimer (Berlin) began publishing globes in 1845 and his prolific publishing house continued producing after his death until the mid 1960's. Reimers Globes are know for their high level of detail and precision .

The 10.5 diameter” globe is made of pasteboard, covered with 12 individual printed paper gores and 2 polar calottes. The mapping is very detailed, displaying Ocean currents, shipping routes as well as colonies. Orb is mounted in an incremented brass stamped half meridian atop a Bauhaus styled base. The language is in German.
The globe is very good condition, colors are vivid and details are crisp. Only very light scratches are visible with some wear to the varnish in the northern hemisphere. Lightly age toned. Light scratches and chips to wooden base. The meridian is without cracks or breaks. There is some wear to the holes were the axis rod passes through the orb allowing some play, though the globe does not rub anywhere on the meridian.
The globe is dated 1926 which is reflective of the geography displayed – Persia, Arabia (pre-Saudi), Constantinople, Triplolis unusual defined border (pre Libya definition)
