Up for bids is a nice vintage sickle blade grinder or sharpener. This tool has clear embossed markings of: "McCormick-Deering; Chicago, USA", with the "IHC" logo and casting numbers in several places. The grinder is in very good original condition with no breaks or repairs. It is smooth working, complete with spring loaded cast hook that enables the stone to move back-and-forth, as it turns. The stone has stains and residue, but no chips or damage. There is much red finish remaining on this tool that is better seen in hand, along with a little grime in crevises. All of the gears are very good with no chipped teeth. The wooden handle is fine; and all springs are complete with no damage. There is a long rod included that is threaded on the end. It has a slight bend, but still works fine. This tool is a nice, original example that is clean, and ready for use or display. It will be a welcome addition to your farm, shop or collection, at a Low start price with no reserve.
