DESCRIPTION:
19th Century, Antique German Conta Boehme Victorian Porcelain Dresser or Trinket Box. This box depicts the famous Kate Greenaway's drawing of the Seesaw nursery rhyme that was very popular during the late Victorian era. A little boy is sharing a tetter totter with is cat, the cat jumped off and the boy falls down. There is a match to this box showing the boy and cat on the Seesaw.
This box is listed in the Vogel's Conta & Boehme Porcelain on page 258, view 92 and in Victorian Trinket boxes
on pages 100-101. It's marked with 3636 and the Conta Shield impressed on the bottom of the lid, and a painter's mark of 98 on the bottom of the base. Group C. Pair Group D. It measures 3 inches long, 4-1/2 inches tall
and 2 inches wide.
CONDITION:
Excellent Condition. This item that's over 120 years old and it's amazing that there is no damage. Some very slight paint and gold loss due to aging. No chips, breaks or other damage. It's almost as new condition, amazing!
