DESCRIPTION:
19th Century, Antique German Conta Boehme Victorian Porcelain Dresser or Trinket Box. This box depicts the famous Kate Greenaway's drawing of the Three Muffin Girls that was very popular during the late Victorian era. The three little girl's are adorable with detailed rosy cheeks and blond hair, wearing cute bonnets and warming their hands in brown muffs.
This box is listed in the Vogel's Conta & Boehme Porcelain on page 258, view 86 and in Victorian Trinket boxes
on pages 104-105. It's marked with 3618 and the Conta Shield
all impressed on the bottom of the lid, and a painter's mark of 162 on the bottom of the base. Group C. It measures 3 inches long, 5 inches tall
and 2 inches wide.
CONDITION:
Excellent Condition. This item that's over 120 years old and it's amazing that there is no damage. The only flaws would be a firing crack on the back of the base that was caused during the firing process, and some minor paint and gold loss due to aging. No chips, breaks or other damage
