1906 Edison Standard Model B
Here is an Edison Standard Model B Phonograph, serial #564284, dating from about 1906. Obtained out of the attic of its original home, this Edison has survived the past 102 years extremely well and was obviously cared for. The machine is all original and has been restored to perform flawlessly as it did when new.
This Edison Standard is an example of a phonograph that comprises beauty in both appearance and functionality. The dark oak cabinet retains its original, clean factory finish. No dents, bangs, gouges, or other blemishes. Also, no veneer chips or breaks on the lid. The gold “Edison” script decal on the front panel of the phonograph is in nice condition as well.
The performance of this phonograph is exceptional. All aspects of the motor and topworks have been inspected and adjusted to function perfectly. Everything runs nice and smoothly, as it should. No broken, dirty, or damaged parts. The original nickel plating on all parts of this phonograph is in fine condition and has an elegant shine. The Model C Reproducer has been adjusted as well and sounds fantastic, with no shrills or blasting. Simply a pleasing, well-rounded tone. This phonograph will play the two-minute cylinders, one of which is included in this sale.
Included with this machine is an excellent replica 14 inch brass bell horn, as well as a reprint of the instructions for setting up and operating an Edison Standard Phonograph.
