If you are a person of refinement and appreciate fine details, this tea set may be the one you've been looking for since it is completely hand chased and engraved by hand. English made of the highest quality in Birmingham, United Kingdom, 1939.
You'll enjoy not just a little engraving here and there. Nearly the entire surface of each piece is completely had done. In addition to the engraving work, we find the set features other high quality features such as recessed lids, flush concealed hinges and a classic Arabesque form which gives this set a handsome classic style and ergonomically a joy to use.
It is CLEAN and ready for immediate use after your inspection and light polishing only.
The teapot is a squat form with low sprawling style but complimented with a tall coffee pot! The set has suitable capacity for todays purposes as well as being heavy. It has warm solid wood handles and finials and each piece has a strong molded foot base.
There are NO CONDITION ISSUES.
There are NO MONOGRAMS.
There are NO DINGS, NO DENTS. The wood is NOT dried out and is not faded. Retaining it's fine lustre.
Each piece is cleanly struck with the English hallmarks as follows:
- MAKER: Unknown by me (see pic)
- TOWN: Birmingham
- SILVER STANDARD: English Standard 925/1000
- DATE: 1939-40

- Tea Pot - 2 1/2 pints, 23.1 ounces, 12" across x 5 3/4" tall
- Coffee Pot - 3 pints, 25.1 ounces, 9" tall x 9" across.
- Sugar Bowl - 6.0 ounces, 6 1/2" across x 3 1/2" tall
- Cream Pitcher - 5.6 ounces, 6 1/2" across x 3 1/2" tall
- Silver Plated Tray - 22 1/2" x 16 1/2", 80.5 ounces (quality made by Reed & Barton)
A medium size well proportioned set. The total silver content is approximately 60 ounces. The tray is not sterling silver. It is a well matched tray made by Reed & Barton. It is in Excellent condition. It has the same profuse engraving design throughout and the cut out handles are very useful since the set is suitable for easy transport. This is not a set that requires a tea caddy or tray server. Well balanced, it will carry easily and fit perfectly on your sideboard or buffet or a server, etc.
