The FREE shipping isn't some kind of scam, come on or have a "catch".
it is simply the best way I can offer this set at a reduced price.
Most of my auctions start for $20 with no reserve, whether they are worth $20 or $800.
Three NIPPON auctions I had the past 3 weeks ended for $148, $312 and $450 had no reserves; starting at $20.
I have a reserve on this set, not because I paid $100 for it, but due to the LOOK of it.
There are no portraits, no cobalts, no ruby reds, no jewels or moriage.
Frankly it isn't the most Striking set ever made.
Not at first glance anyway,
not until you look CLOSELY AT IT.
Not EVERY buyer will like it.
I know a LOT of people who HATE thistles or ANYTHING "pointy".
It might take 2, 3 even 4 listings to get the reserve price.
When the right person or persons see this, consumate collectors
looking for somethng different and of the best artistry and quality,
the reserve price will not be a problem.
The gold thistles are hand done in as heavy, as textured gold as any Nippon set ever made.
Considering how paper thin these items are, it's a miracle none of the gold fell off!

FACT: I take lousy pictures anyway.
Compound that with trying to take pictures of items with gold are HARD.
Gold either shows up as dull or "grey" or too bright, the gold reflects light.
In person this set is truly beautiful--if you like Thistles of course.
The pot is 8" from handle to spout, 7.5" tall.
Cups are 2.25" high, the saucers are 4.5" across.
A "modest" 2000 gold beads adorn the items.
Shipping: if you meet the reseve I'll pay the shipping and insurance.
Keep in mind: the Actual shipping will be up to $22.80; the insurance $3.10.
That is around $26 you Won't have to pay.
