THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION !!! You are bidding on an Antique Painting in Gilded Carved Frame. This piece is a RARE FIND due to its size, age and beauty. It dates back to the 19th Century and is an original piece that was signed by VERY WELL listed American artist Clarence Cook (1828-1900) and is American Hudson School or Catskill as Clarence is a New York artist of the 19th Century who is listed in the Davenport and various other art indexes. It came from a private estate and is an original Oil on Canvas that depicts a beautiful River Creek on Mountain Landscape. This painting was done with great detail in both color and clarity with beautiful landscape and floral foliage with trees that surround the painting. There is a beautiful running creek down stream as shown in the photos. It has nice tonalism in the sky with sun coming through and the floral foliage that is reflecting off the waters..The surrounds of the painting has a beautiful landscape with nice water breaks along the rocks that were very well done with great depth and dimension to the detail. There are beautiful small birds at the bottom sitting on branches and one at the top. The artist was a TRUE MASTER, because we see great care and SKILL in the painting down to its finest details. With paintings of this caliber you can see the amount of care and attention the artist put into the piece and accomplished quite a bit here. I am not an art expert and we took as many pictures as we can to make your own determination as this came from a private estate on Long Island. The painting is original and has craquelure throughout with some minor imperfections due to its natural age and may need some professional touch up. The frame is beautifully gilded with floral carved detail and also has imperfections and some loss along the edges that is consistant with its age and we believe it to be original to the painting. Because of its size it can be accented anywhere throughout your home as a beautiful piece that I PROMISE will be a topic of conversation and is very relaxing to the eye with warm color tones. This piece was VERY WELL made with quality that surpasses ANYTHING that is made today but Please understand that this is an antique and has some minor imperfections on it with its age as as stated and shown in the pictures below but overall its in excellent shape. Using your own shipper:
You
may use your own shipper, however please note that
Antique Furniture Depot does not provide any packing
services, and will not crate, wrap or pad your
item, and a $25 handling fee will
apply.
Local
Pick UP:
Item(s) must be picked up
within 30 days of auction ending, a
$25 handling fee will apply, as well as NY
State Sales Tax. Our warehouse hours are M-F 10am-6pm and we normally
open one Saturday per month,
please give us 72 hours advance notice prior to
desired pick up date. Any items left after
30 days will be assessed $25 per week,
per auction for storage. For all pick ups
please bring your own blankets, pads and any other
material you may need to secure your item(s). Any items
left over 120 days, if there are no prior
arrangements made, then the sale will be forefeited and no refunds will be
issued.

On all painting shipments, insurance
will be required. Shipping insurance
does not cover any scratches, dings, or minor
scuffs and is only for total damage or
loss of item. Please provide us with a day and evening phone number(s) so that once the items arrive in your state we can schedule your delivery in a timely manner. When the item(s) leave our warehouse you will be notified via email that the item has in fact been shipped and we will include the carriers name who will contact you directly to arrange exact delivery date and time.
