It is my pleasure to auction off one of the most sought after ZENITH floor model radios...Ever Built! The model is...15U269. This model has been referred to as being one step down from the legendary STRATOSPHERE model. This 15 tube classic has been completely restored electronically. Replaced were: {6} FILTER CAPACITORS...{22} COUPLING / BY - PASS CAPACITORS...{10} Out Of Tolerance Resistors...Replaced EYE TUNING TUBE {6E5}...Replaced DIAL TUNING BELTS...Replaced Power Cord / Plug Assembly...Cleaned CONTROL & SWITCH ASSEMBLIES...Aligned IF & DETECTOR TRANSFORMERS. The SHUTTER DIAL switch works as it should. The On & Off knob on the bottom right is a ZENITH one, but I do not believe it is original with the radio? Nevertheless, it works just fine. I was informed that the dial cover is PLASTIC, and should be GLASS. If that is the case, it was attached excellently. I also was told that the correct glass replacement would cost around $50.00...Installed. Also the MOTOR DRIVE is weak and cannot drive the tuning assembly. I was informed that most always it is a certain part that is not costly at all. Most amazing is, the previous owner left the finish alone!...And it looks GREAT. There are very few bumps or bruises or scratches. The GRILLE cloth looks to be in excellent condition, and I believe Original. There has been no attempt on my part to polish or otherwise embellish the cabinet finish. The little White selling sticker is still attached. I will let the lucky winner remove. THIS RADIO CLASSIC PLAYS GREAT! I am installing a fair Reserved price on this radio, and must add that this is ...A PICK UP ONLY...BUT, will assist in locating a local delivery service {if He or She wishes}, if buyer assumes full cost of shipping.
