Circa 1880 Danner Revolving Oak/Ash slat-sided
8 Shelf Bookcase.

Bookcase has 8 ornate iron brackets, 16 iron slat guides and a four wheel removable base. Bookcase pivots on metal pipe through middle inserted into top underside attached iron piece.

Approximate measurements:
56 inches tall, 21 & 1/2 inches wide on slats side and 23 inches wide at open shelf sides. All wood slats appear original to the bookcase. Removable slats are 41 inches in length and are one inch wide. 8 shelves are 21 & 1/2 inches wide and 9 & 1/4 inches deep. Bottom shelves hold books up to 12 & 1/2 inches tall, 2nd shelves from bottom hold books up to 11 & 1/4 inches tall and the 2nd shelves from top will hold books up to 10 & 1/4 inches tall.
Estimated total weight is 100 pounds.

Stamp on top is worn and appears to read: DANNER'S REVOLVING BOOK CASE, PATENTED MAY 16, 1876 FEB. 20TH & DEC. 11, 1877, MANUFACTURED BY JOHN DANNER MFG. CO., CANTON, OHIO.

Condition Notes: Very Good as found usable condition. Original patina has wear, scratches and imperfections to the finish. Bookcase is structurally solid. Some wood pieces of shelves are loose. Horizontal top piece has loss to one side. Two vertical side slats are damaged and missing about 3-4 inches of length. Ornate iron pieces and iron slat guides are original. They appear to have original black painted patina. The four iron wheels are original and move freely.
