Dating from around 1890, this is a bronze patinated white metal panel, possibly spelter or pewter, to a design by walter Crane, bearing the profile of a Pre-Raphaelite maiden. The panel measures approximately 5 3/4 inches wide by 8 1/2 inches deep. Against a textured ground, the femail figure has flowing heair held back by a ribonned head dress and wears a top of floral design. Very crisply cast and in very nice order, the reverse bears the remains of a paper label, in addition to the embossed insignia of Walter Crane (in one of its forms) showing a stylised figure of an upright bird within an upper case 'C', although the former is a little indistinct being proud of the surface and embossed in soft metal. In good order, there are no major issues, and the applied bronze patina is even without significant breaks, there is just a slight 'bump' to the lower right hand corner. .
