Vintage art deco airplane lamp, thought to be a DC-3, made in the 1930s - not the reproduction Sasparilla lamps often found, with the frosted glass shade with painted outlines and windows - this looks original, but could have been touched up along the way - not sure. Original propellers and metal body have areas of rust, no deep pitting, but this will need to be polished to restore some of the chrome shine, and some of the areas may need more buffing to take out all the rust. In as-found condition. Electric cord was probably replaced sometime along the way. No bent or dinged areas to the body noted. I recommend a 7 watt bulb for this, and no more than 25 watts to prevent heat buildup inside the glass. Wing-span measures 13-1/2" across. Very low reserve...this is a better investment than your 401k...sure to increase in value and certainly nicer to look at and enjoy. Enjoy!
WHO AM I? Please check my About Me page for more information. I have been selling on eBay since 1998 and am a passionate collector of antiques and collectibles.
WINNING BIDDER: Please run through checkout within 3 days of auction close. Payment expected within 10 days. Timely communications always appreciated. Check your spam filters before assuming you haven't heard from me; I send an email with checkout instructions when the auction closes, when I receive a payment by mail, and when I ship.
SHIPPING TURNAROUND: I do my best to send items within a couple days of payment receipt, but I have a full-time job that sometimes gets in the way and I can't get to the shippers until the weekend.
SHIPPING OPTIONS AND COSTS: Recent rate hikes with the USPS, and surcharges now applied to boxes greater than 1 cubic foot, mean that larger packages are best shipped via Fed Ex Ground. But if you live in Alaska or Hawaii, have an APO address, or are an international buyer, you must choose the higher USPS rate. Fed Ex Ground does, generally, take a bit longer. Please don't ding me for their slower shipping time; you usually save big dollars for using them over USPS, and I believe most buyers prefer reduced costs over faster shipping speeds.
FEEDBACK: If for some reason you are dissatisfied with your purchase, please let me know - I respectfully ask you to consider working out an issue or concern before hitting me with negative or neutral feedback. I work hard to find cool stuff at reasonable prices, and I like my feedback to reflect my professionalism, service, and quality shipping materials. But if I've made a mistake, or you're unhappy, just let me know. Five stars always appreciated!
Best of luck and thank you for your interest in my auction!
