This Welch Audran is a model seldom seen and the few that have gone at auction have brought big money. (My reserve is very reasonable.) Taking one look at this example you can see why they command such premium prices. This is a large, ornate, intricately carved and highly impressive clendar clock that is about as common as an honest politician. (there just aren't any out there) And it is BIG, much bigger than it looks in the photos with a very regal, sublime stance. This is an outstanding example. The walnut case is in excellent condition as you can see. It retains its original finish and has no damage or replaced parts. It is complete and near perfect with all of its original parts and trim pieces intact, save the little black top dial door knob, an easy fix hardly worth mentioning. (bottom one is present). Both dials are original with their original papers. Movement is original, signed by Welch, currently running well and keeping time, chiming out the hours and half hours on a very loud and tonal cathedral gong. The calendar mechanism is encased in its original housing and boasts a great label still present.
