Early 20th Century Table Top Pie Safe in Old Robins Egg Blue Paint c1910-1930
Purchased last month from the estate of an early General Store in rural Sussex County, New Jersey. A large table/counter top pie safe in its original robins egg blue paint with its old dome screen lid. There are two lollipop handles on each top side to remove the cover from the bottom boards. Top fits perfectly inside of the base and sits flat and even. Made from strong and heavy solid pine with good weight. The blue paint is the first and only coat applied and has been washed thoroughly with murphy oil soap. All sides and corners are attached with their original small nails. Two batton feet raise the bottom underneath on both sides. Knife nicks and age appropriate wear surround the outer perimeter of the bottom side boards. Winning bidder will find several uses for this great untouched country piece. There is a very modest reserve to protect my initial investment. Photos show more details.
