Our large teak-oiled trunk is the ideal outdoor storage solution. Top lit opens on 2 spring loaded hinges. Lid will stay in the open postion when lifted up.
The GIANT STORAGE BOX is made of SOLID SHOREA, a Pacific Rim Hardwood. It has been treated with a Maple-tinted Teak Oil. The Maple tint, helps the furniture maintain its color, and will inhibit the fading process. Future applications of clear Teak Oil are suggested.
It is difficult to gauge the size of this piece in a litle picture. This is a BIG BOX! It is 4 feet long, 2 feet deep and 2 feet high!

Care of NYATOH and SHOREA
To help maintain the wood's original appearance, a periodic application of TEAK OIL or similar wood oil is suggested. Personally, I do it once in April at the start of the season, and again in the fall just before putting the furniture under cover for the winter. (YES, ALL MY PATIO FURNITURE AT HOME IS EITHER NYATOH or SHOREA!!) April 2006 will mark the beginning of the 4th summer season with the identical pieces!
Exactly like TEAK, NYATOH and SHOREA will exhibit small surface cracks. This is called "checking" and is a characteristic of all outside timber. You may very well see small surface cracks right out of the box. This is entirely normal, and does NOT affect the STRENGTH or DURABILITY of the furniture.
PERIODICALLY CHECK FOR AND TIGHTEN ANY LOOSE HARDWARE!!!!
