A VERY NICE EMPIRE MAHOGANY SECRETARY DESK WITH 3 DRAWERS AND 2 GLASS DOORS WHICH OPEN TO THE BOOKCASE PORTION. THE DESK PORTION FOLDS DOWN AND LAYS ON TOP OF 2 PULL OUT SUPPORTS THAT SUPPORT THE WRITING SURFACE . TO ACCESS THE WRITING AREA. (THE GREEN FELT IS A REPLACEMENT) SOME WHERE ALONG THE YEARS. CONDITION:

THERE IS ONE DRAW OF THE BOOKCASE PORTION THAT IS MISSING!

I AM QUITE SURE THAT AT SOME TIME THE DESK HAS BEEN RESTORED. THE FEET MAY HAVE BEEN REPLACED (JUST MY OPINION) , THERE IS EVIDENCE OF REINFORCED GLUE BLOCKS THAT HAVE BEEN REGLUED AROUND THE FEET. THE FELT HAS BEEN RENEWED.

THE BACK BOARDS SEEM TO BE ORIGINAL WITH SQUARE HEAD NAILS (SOME REPLACED), THE COMMON STAINING AROUND THE NAIL HEADS. THE MUSHROOM KNOBS AND BRASS PULLS ON THE DESK SUPPORT APPEAR ORIGINAL. THE GLASS APPEARS TO BE ORIGINAL (WAVY AND SOME AIR BUBBLES), THEY WERE PROBABLY REMOVED WHEN THE PIECE WAS RESTORED..

WIDTH IS 39 &1/2" AT THE DESK TOP--HT. IS JUST SHY OF 71"--BOTTOM CASE IS 18" DEEP --TOP CASE IS 10" DEEP--SHELVES ARE 35 &1/2" LONG X 7 &3/4" DEEP--

THE 2 SHELVES ARE 11 AND 1/4" AND 11 & 3/4" RESPECTIVELYPLEASE EMAIL WITH ANY QUESTIONS, I HAVE REPRESENTED THE CONDITION AS I HAVE INSPECTED THE DESK.
