This auction is for
a stunning antique Coalport demitasse (or
cabinet) cup and saucer. Made ca. 1910-20
this beautiful porcelain cup and saucer
are decorated with landscape scenes and
the inside of the cup and handle are
lavishly gilded. The scenes are completely
handpainted and signed on both the cup and
the saucer by the artist J. Oldfield. The
cup shows Loch Lomond (Scotland) and the
saucer shows Innisfallen Killarney
(Ireland). The cup measures 2" across (not
including handle) and just over 1-7/8"
deep. The saucer measures 3-7/8" across.
Condition is perfect: no chips, no cracks
and no repairs or restoration. The gilding
is in pristine condition too with no wear.
The only thing that I can find are some
tiny pin prick size nicks along the base
edge of the cup (see close-up pictures). I
think these happened during manufacturing
and they are certainly not detracting at
all. There is no crazing. Please see my

reflections of light on the glaze and are
not on the actual object
