Lenox, china to presidents, president’s daughters and the girl next door, was the first American company to produce large quantities of high quality porcelain china and has been the standard bearer for American china for 100 years. Lenox produced its first White House service in 1918 for President Woodrow Wilson. Other services were ordered by presidents Roosevelt, Truman and Reagan. Today, Lenox is the official supplier of china to the White House. The same steps that go into the White House service go into every piece of Lenox.
The Westport pattern was on of Lenox's most exclusive. It is a magnificent illustration of the factory's skills including: raised gold place, acid etching, dipping and hand gold lining. The pattern was discontinued in the 1970's; however, a small run was made for a VIP customer in the early 80's. This platter is from that run and has NEVER been used and is in the original factory packaging. It orginally cost over $500 USD.
SIze is 14"/41cm long
