WELCOME TO MY AUCTION and THANK YOU FOR STOPPING BY! MY AUCTIONS ALWAYS KICK OFF WITH VERY LOW STARTING PRICES AND NO RESERVES!!! SO ENJOY and I HOPE YOU RETURN AGAIN SOMETIME!

Item Description:

This is a beautiful, old and quite RARE Fenton ~ PETER RABBIT ~ 8 Ruffle Collar Based Bowl with the Berry Exterior ~ in very rich, dark MARIGOLD Base Glass color. As you can see in the photo with light coming through, the glass has that desirable pumpkin color to it. It is 9 inches wide, 2 1/2 inches tall. Talk about a piece that is hardly ever seen....this is the first bowl I've seen in person in this pattern! As the pictures show...it has tremendous color both inside and outside. It isn't often ANY Marigold piece has color like this...let alone on a rarely seen piece. You get great color and RARE bowl in one purchase. The multi-color iridescence is so rich all through the pattern and on the exterior as well...a delightful rainbow of wonderful color. The piece has striking looks at a distance before you even know it is a rare pattern. So I think that speaks for itself as to the true color appeal. It is a true standout piece for any collection. The pictures are true...just take a look at how pretty it is. Loads and loads of vibrant visual appeal on this beauty. A great looking piece of old Fenton! The piece is not marked, it is vintage Fenton at its finest. It is an awesome looking example of this beautiful, RARE old pattern, desirable base glass color and shape! If you have been looking to add one of these beautiful pieces to your collection or you are looking for a color upgrade, you should give this one serious consideration. Look it over. You can't go wrong! Its a gorgeous, solid investment quality piece of glass. I have included several photos of the piece so you can see for yourself. It looks even better in your hands as it is always very difficult to capture a piece like this on film and do it justice. You can reference this piece in David Doty's 1998 Field Guide to Carnival Glass or The Encyclopedia to Carnival Glass and Edwards and Carwile. I guarantee this is authentic, early 1900's vintage Carnival Glass! All my pictures are taken outside, always, in natural, indirect sunlight against a dark or light cloth...no artificial light is EVER used! I never enhance photos, if you like the colors you see...that is what you will get! I do not use reserves, never have, I believe auctions should be...well...auctions! So bid with confindence and have fun...LOW starting bid...it will sell to the high bidder.

Item Condition: (Pictures are part of the description...and I include lots of them...so please have a look!)

This piece is in very good condition condition! No cracks or repairs. No major issues whatsoever. There are a few scattered, faint manufacturing stretch marks visible on the piece, very faint...nothing uncommon in old glass. There a few small, enclosed, air bubbles, common in old glass and nothing uncommon here. There is a manufacturing straw mark that extends from the interior pattern into the center of the bowl...off center actually and does not go all the way across..common on old pieces. The Base is in super shape...shows extremely light shelf wear on the bottom. Extremely minor and common in 100 year old pieces of glass. The mold seams can be felt, are just a tad rough to the touch, very, very minor...you have to seek them out. The piece sits flat, level and solid. Overall condition of the base is excellent! The Edge Treatment  on the piece is very well done...has a super attractive look! Loads of high quality eye appeal! The ruffles and saw tooth edge are well formed and even. There is a small chip or flake on the end of one of the teeth (see photo). You can see how small it is next to the end of a ball point pen. It is very minor on a piece of this significance and color. You really have to hunt for it to find it. The Interior  ...Excellent condition with super color...there are just a few teeny, teeny pin-head sized or smaller flecks of loss of iridescence (is what I call it) scattered in the bowl...so, so light. Simply put it is nothing more than extremely light wear, common to old glass and nothing uncommon here...excessively minor and only visible upon the very closest of inspections. The Exterior  is in great shape also. Great mold, super color. Again just a few tiny flecks of loss of iridescence as described above is all I can make out. Really exceptional. Looks as though its never been used for anything but display throughout its entire, long life! Very SHARP, very pretty. That is all I can find on this gorgeous piece of Fenton! It is a Brilliant and Beautiful piece of antique glass...a RARE commodity with exceptional color for any Marigold piece. Really gorgeous. This one would do any quality collection proud. I've looked it over hard...I'm being very picky in my Condition Description. It is an outstanding investment quality piece of glass! I included lots of pictures, up close, so have a look. It is a pleasure to look at, stands out for sure, don't miss out. I collect Carnival Glass myself and I try to be very thorough with my descriptions, like I like others to be when I'm buying so you know what you are getting. The piece is an outstanding example of what Vintage Carnival Glass is all about. The pictures show it well, please have a look. It is every bit as beautiful as the pictures show. If you like the color you see, that is what you will get and even better. Any questions for verification or clarification, please ask!

On Dec-06-08 at 02:24:47 PST, seller added the following information:

I am sorry....but if I do not have any serious bids on this piece by 4:00pm Saturday, I will have to pull this item. While not selling with a reserve, it is worth a lot more than what it is going for now. I just want a fair price for the piece. You serious collectors know the value of this bowl, please bid accordingly or e-mail me with your intention to bid the piece. I'd really appreciate it and I'd really like the piece to be enjoyed by someone else for a while, but sure don't mind keeping it. Thank you.
