This is an ANTIQUE CHILD'S TREADLE SEWING MACHINE called LITTLE DAISY. The wrought iron base has lettering on the center front of the frame that says: "TULLY'S PATENTED JULY 3, 1883". There is gold painted scalloping design on both sides of the machine's base as well as a little design on the arm. I can't make out what is fully embossed in the machine's metal striker plate but it reads, "DAISY ST...Cleveland...USA,...Patent...July 3 1883...No.1429...". Information I have found says, "The machine was made by Daisy Sewing Machine Co. Cleveland, OH and the patent number is 2562". The machine moves smoothly but I can't promise it works because the is no belt, needle, bobbin or bobbin case. I don't know if it's suppose to have anything else other than the machine would have had a fancy bonnet (cover) that matched the table top to protect the machine. Both sides of the base have an iron daisy design with leaves and a stem forming a support for the legs and the blossom plus the area outlining the lettering nearest the feet of the iron base is the original gold paint. There are two sizes of holes in the foot treadle on the front side and only the larger size on the rear side. The wood surface or table top looks like walnut and the inside wall of the pivoting drawer on the left side of the table has been replaced. The drawer front has been repaired with a wood filler but hasn't been stained. It's Victorian drawer pull is intact with the wood knob and the fancy brass knob plate. All of the following measurements are approximate: 25 7/8" = total height, 21 1/8" = table height, 4 3/4" = machine (above table surface) height, 18" = table width, 10 1/8" = table depth, 20 3/4" = base height, 12" = base width, 11 1/2" base depth, 6 3/8" = machine width, 3 1/4" = machine depth, 3" = drawer width, 7 1/2" = drawer length. It's a cute as it can be and has made an interesting display as well as conversation piece in my guest room as a small lamp table for years. BUYER PAYS ACTUAL SHIPPING with no handling fees. This LARGE package weighs 21 pounds is 29" x 18.5" x 18" and will be coming from zip code 22015. We mail USPS and insurance is optional. We will not be responsible for uninsured items.
