This is one of three rare Kachina dolls that we have currently listed that were a gift from the famous Taos artist Joseph Henry Sharp to his good friend the Hollywood actor Christian Rub whose descendants lived here in the islands. Totally out of our area of expertise, the dolls are pure and untouched with original paint and patina and we were told by a family member that they were carved of cottonwood. Size is 9 3/4" height. This item has an amazing presence and history, we are listing it like all of our auctions without any reserve so good luck. The provenance will be given to the winning bidder on our letterhead if so desired. Also be sure to check out our other rare and interesting listings we currently have listed including a couple of early pre-historic Southwest pots from the same collection along with some important Polynesian items. Very careful packing, shipping and delivery confirmation by priority mail will be $9.00 in the U.S. International shipping will depend on destination. Insurance is additional and required and will be determined after auction ends. All major credit cards accepted by fax with a signature. All sales final. Payment must be received within 7 days of auction ending. Check out my other items! Be sure to add me to your favorites list!
