A remarkably intricate map of the Great Lakes regions in Upper Canada, New York and Pennsylvania. Shows include the famous Niagara Falls and several principle cities, some of which include Thunder Bay, London, Toronto, Detroit, Oswego, etc. Also shows the Oneida First Nations reservation upstate New York. The US-Canada border divides lakes Huron, Erie and Ontario. Map extends from the La Cloche Mountains in the northwest, to Longueuil between the Ottawa River and the Saint Lawrence River (Fleuve Saint-Laurent) in the east, and south into Pennsylvania.
This is an original engraved map. Very Good condition, and retaining a strong impression. Suitable for framing. Sheet measures approximately 15 inches x 10 inches (39 cm x 25 cm).
This is an original map from a multi-volume scientific journal titled "Allgemeine Geographische Ephemeriden", which issued fifty volumes from 1798-1816 and which encompassed critical contemporary topics of geography and astronomy.
