PLEASE READ: WE WILL NO LONGER TOLERATE BIDDERS WITH ZERO FEEDBACK. WE WILL IMMEDIATELY CANCEL YOUR BID AND RESTRICT YOU FROM BIDDING ON OUR LOTS IF YOU SHOULD BID. If you are new to eBay, have "zero", low, or too much negative feedback, we request that YOU DO NOT BID!!

PLEASE BEWARE of COPY-CAT SELLERS!! We are getting emails from some of our long-time customers who have reported a recent opy-cat sellerwho has attempted to make it look like there is some association with us. BEWARE! You can identify this seller not only by the listing format he has plagiarized, virtually word-for-word from us, but there are other important things to notice. First, he has not been around that long. And most importantly, his so-called stateauctions are all rivate There is no need for this these days, ever since eBay began hiding bidder identities for their protection. It is commonly believed that the only reason a person uses private listings is because they are running a phony auction, using shill-bidding, etc. Folks, please be careful!

WE DO ACCEPT PAYPAL PAYMENTS, UP TO A MAXIMUM OF $5,000 OF THE WINNING BID AMOUNT. BALANCE TO BE PAID VIA BANK TRANSFER. ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE JUST ASK. THANK YOU!

We THANK YOU,

Joe & Jen, Post Falls, Idaho

IMPORTANT: eBay requires additional info from those bidding over $15,000. This can really delay acceptance of your bid! Don't be frozen out at the end like so many who fail to bid early!

PAYMENT OPTIONS:
THE WINNER NEEDS TO BE PREPARED TO TAKE CARE OF FULL PAYMENT IN A TIMELY MANNER. PLEASE DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO MEET YOUR OBLIGATIONS. BE PREPARED TO MAKE PAYMENT WITHIN 72 HOURS OF AUCTION CLOSING.

IMPORTANT!! A BANK TO BANK FUNDS TRANSFER IS THE SAFEST METHOD OF PAYMENT FOR BUYERS, AND IS NOW THE PRIMARY PAYMENT METHOD WE WILL ACCEPT ON THIS LOT. PLEASE DO NOT CONFUSE NORMAL BANK FUNDS TRANSFER WITH "MONNEY-GRAM" OR "WESTRN UNION" CASH "WYRES", WHICH ARE ANONYMOUS, AND THEREFORE NOT SAFE. WE WILL NEVER ASK YOU FOR THIS.

NOTE: WE CAN NO LONGER ACCEPT CHECKS ON THESE ESTATE LIQUIDATIONS! IF YOU REPRESENT A FIRM, A TRANSFER FROM YOUR BUSINESS ACCOUNT IS RECOMMENDED. INDIVIDUALS ARE ENCOURAGED TO BID AS WELL AS DEALERS.

IMPORTANT!! WE DO ACCEPT PAYPAL PAYMENTS, UP TO A MAXIMUM OF $5,000 OF THE WINNING BID AMOUNT. BALANCE TO BE PAID VIA BANK TRANSFER. ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE JUST ASK. THANK YOU!

IN THE EVENT THE FULL BALANCE IS NOT PAID WITHIN THE 72 HOUR TIME PERIOD, THE WINNER WILL RISK FORFEITING THEIR RIGHT TO PURCHASE THE LOT.

INSURANCE: YES, it's important! But keep in mind, that it will vary depending upon Final Value, where the auction ends up. Note, WE cover boxes, packing, tracking and postage / freight / shipping, but we do ask our winners to contribute to insurance coverage. For example, if the lot ends at $20,000, we will strongly suggest that approximately $185 be ADDED to fully cover your shipment. At $40,000 "final value", plan on an additional $340, at $60K FV, please add $490, at $80K, please add $635. At $100K FV or more, etc...ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE JUST ASK!!

THERE ARE NO "PICK-UPS", DUE TO SECURITY ISSUES. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE EMAIL ME, JOE NETZEL, EITHER THROUGH EBAY CONTACT BUTTON, OR DIRECTLY TO OUR EMAIL: thethirdgarage@gmail.com. ALL QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED WITHIN 24 - 48 HOURS.

AUCTION INFO: The items in this estate-style lot have been assembled and photographed carefully for your inspection. $$ Old Currency Collection $$

TREMENDOUS VALUE...OLDEST, 1777 !!

SOME real nice US & Russian material mostly, some larger notes too, including a few extremely scarce pieces in this collection, be sure to read below. There's BLUE seals, Brown, Green, Gold, and Red... POSSIBLY THE NICEST CURRENCY COLLECTION WE HAVE EVER OFFERED IN OVER A DECADE OF SELLING ON EBAY!

Unless you are a serious currency collector, you may not know how RARE old 1914 Federal Reserve Notes are. According to the Gengerke census, 1914 FRNs are some of the rarest notes of all US issues, of all time. Many are scarce in any grade, and there are TWO in this collection, a $10 and a $50!

DID YOU KNOW that $50 FRNs are almost as rare as $100's? Only 8% of large blue seal FRNs are $50's. But it gets even better! Our particular $10 is really rare!!

SUPER RARE!! ONLY 10 KNOWN TO EXIST, IN ALL GRADES!!!

The 1914 Atlanta $10 FRN here is ridiculously scarce. Our Gengerke census may be a few years old, but it shows only a scant TEN known!! Of course, few of these ever surface anymore, at this late date, these were issued so long ago. We have the Freidberg number as 926 for those inclined to look it up.

BETHLEHEM $10 National, Very Desirable, 39 Known...

National Currency can be just as rare as 1914 FRNs, but there is one other thing about them that often has collectors stumbling over each other. Because the name of the issuing bank is so prominent, many collectors will target special place names, or one that has some significance. Not only a scarce note, but due to it's name, it is especially sought-after. Get this one in time for Christmas!!

* * * * *

THE FINEST KNOWN 1969 "C" NOTE !!

Paper Money Guaranty (PMG) has certified this 1969C Atlanta $100 note as GEM UNCIRCULATED 66, and there are no finer notes known, you will shortly own the best of the best, none finer exist!!

A Rare Hawaii $5, and a $10 North Africa!!

These are enormously popular, and quite rare. The $5 is the rarest of all Hawaii notes, much, much scarcer than $1's, or even $20's. And the North Africa notes are captivating with their dual gold and blue colors, also very scarce, you hardly ever see them!

More National, and even a post-Civil War Fractional

GENUINE CONTINENTAL CURRENCY, 1777, CERTIFIED BY PCGS

Not just currency, but a piece of history. Did George Washington, or Benjamin Franklin once hold this bill? It is possible! But besides dating back to the foundation of the USA, this note is in incredible rare condition! PCGS has given it a grade of "63", which for Continental Currency is very rare indeed. Imagine going to the bank, and getting a crisp uncirculated bill, and then, you decide to put it away to keep it pristine, and 231 YEARS from now, someone finds it, and it is just as nice as when it was put away.

The note is hand-signed, twice, and even the serial number is in ink. By the way, PCGS uses the term "apparent" when an alteration to a bill is noted. In this case, the punch holes were repaired, as was common in the old days of currency collecting. Most Continental Currency was of course cancelled, and punch holes were put through them, this was entirely normal, but these days, collectors tend to almost prefer a note unaltered. However, when you see one so professionally done, to where you can't almost tell, except by turning it over, it is a desirable specimen indeed. Which is why it was sent to PCGS to be slabbed. A very pricey note in high grades of course, but obviously the hole-repair has kept it out of the stratosphere. Just a fantastic note for the investor and collector!

RARE "STAR" NOTES FROM THE 1950's...$100 VIRTUALLY CRISP UNC!!

WHO STUCK THIS "CUBA" $1,000 IN HERE??

ACTUALLY, when this note was issued, it was at PAR with the US Dollar!! This bill "cost" $1,000 USD in the 1950's, when the island of Cuba was still a haven for those rich and famous who loved casinos, fine cigars, and the Caribbean climate. But who could afford to just take one of these babies home as a souvenir??

How about AMON G. CARTER, JR.? This Fort Worth, Texas currency collector amassed one of the greatest currency collections of all time before his death in 1982. This note has it's pedigree to this collection (serial number A084065A). By the way, Carter could definitely afford this souvenir. Some of the older folks out there might recall that Mr. Carter also owned a little company called, AMERICAN AIRLINES...

---------------------------------

MOTHER RUSSIA...OVER 100 OLD RUSSIAN NOTES

MANY OVER A CENTURY OLD...

NO, this is not an area we are knowledgeable about, we have never offered a Russian currency collection before, so please look these up if you can, there might be something rare here. We note that the large note with the Empress on it seems to be a 1,000 denomination. This is simply an enormous sum in pre-revolutionary rubles! The Gold equivalent today, at the approximate 40 rubles per ounce of gold at that time would translate to a value today of almost $19,000 USD!!! No, we're not saying it is worth that of course, as we said, this is not our usual offering, but it is interesting to make these calculations, for fun if nothing else. It also suggests that not many of these bills could have been around perhaps, just our thoughts. Also, in stumbling around eBay, looking to compare anything, a few of these bills can be found on eBay. A couple seem to be "Siberia", but we can't really read Russian of course. Common bills on eBay are only selling for $5 or $10 each, but do remember, there are over a HUNDRED Russian bills here! Even if nothing turned out to be so rare, at liquidation, we have to think there is still ENORMOUS VALUE in this large collection!

SIMPLY THEE NICEST OLD CURRENCY COLLECTION WE HAVE EVER OFFERED!! HUGE VALUE!!

$$ DON'T LET IT SLIP AWAY!!! $$

COMRADE LENIN!!

Lenin was the driving force behind the Revolution and is still highly regarded today in Russia. It's true that the Berlin Wall has fallen, but while Stalin has been discarded, Lenin continues to occupy a central role in recent Russian thinking. As the whole world leans ever more Socialist, Lenin may indeed loom large as history is written. The bust of Lenin here is inscribed, but we have no idea of what the inscription says.

The large original oil painting of Lenin...more on that later.

1955 PULITZER PRIZE WINNER H. E. SALISBURY COVER,

FROM RUSSIA, WITH LOVE!!

Here an incredible piece of history, a cover, with note enclosed, from one of the greatest names in journalism! Sent from the famous Hotel Metropole in Moscow in 1950, it is addressed to New York Times managing editor Edwin James! Take a look/font>

Mr. Harrison Evans Salisbury (1908 1993) won the Pulitzer Prize in 1955 for playing perhaps the most important historical role in interpreting the Soviet Union for English-speaking readers of the world. The famous American journalist for the United Press found himself right in the middle of the Cold War, because he had been sent to Moscow in 1944 while the Soviet Union was still technically a US ally. Of course, with Stalin in power, he found himself continually censored and couldn really get the full message out until his return to the US in 1954. In a series of scathing articles released upon his return, he revealed to the world what the Kremlin and Josef Stalin were really about, helping to ignite Western fears of Communism that were not being helped by the nuclear proliferation that formed the backdrop to the intense drama. Salisbury is certainly one of the more famous international news reporters of that era, but his career was hardly over.

VIETNAM. In 1971 Salisbury, working for the Times, was again the center of controversy as the entagon Paperswere published. Then President Nixon objected strenuously, and it went to the Supreme Court, where they ruled that the public was in fact entitled to this lassifiedinformation about US involvement in Vietnam. Few realize that this was probably the tipping point in anti-war sentiment that culminated in the US pull-out a few years later. Quite frankly, it is hard to overstate the importance of Salisbury, not merely as a journalist, but as a major player in world history.

Mr. Edwin Leland James was managing editor for the New York Times until his death in 1951. Originally the European war correspondent for the Times, he worked hard, climbed the ladder, and eventually occupied the big office of managing editor for one of the world most important newspapers.

Our cover here, in a New York Times airmail envelope also has some interesting stampings on it, but the note inside is interesting too. Written on half a memo sheet from E. L. James, one notation is addressed to itty(could be Kitty Brown, on staff at the Times, possible traveling companion, four years younger than James). Another notation is simply signed . and references a S Diplomatic Pouch (which would have been necessary for many communications). On the reverse, there is another notation to ib(from Kit) that further explains, and mentions Salisbury in Moscow, and that the letter was deposited with the Embassy instead of going through ordinary mail originally, and was only put into the mail by the State Dept in Washington, to be mailed to New York.

As mentioned above, Salisbury was being censored, probably considered a pyby the Soviets, and the diplomatic pouch was the only way certain information could escape the USSR at that time. Even so, Salisbury had to be careful, knowing well that he could easily have an ccidentand never make it home if he stepped out of line too much. As it was, he waited until he came back in 1954 to really tell his story, and the world has never been the same since.

Dated 1950, this is only 5 years before winning journalism most prestigious award, and deservedly so. Certainly an interesting piece of Cold War and Journalism history!

EARTH'S FIRST ASTRONAUT...

ACTUALLY, THAT WOULD BE COSMONAUT. YURI GAGARIN captured the world's imagination, and then their hearts, as the first human in space. This is an an old historic newspaper (does that say "Pravda" in Russian?) from the day he died, prematurely in a horrible plane crash. He was only 36. Controversy surrounds Gagarin to this day, as many claim that he was murdered, and that it was made to look like an accident. But why? The conspiracy theory goes that Gagarin never actually made it into space at all. Instead, the Russian space program was plagued by accidents that didn't make anyone look too good, and so a new strategy was devised to find a person who would be the perfect hero, strictly for public consumption, without the annoying risk of dying during a mission. Devastating good looks, a charming personality, Gagarin seemed the perfect choice for such a public relations ploy. As the years went on, apparently Gagarin wasn't too happy about his role, and turned to heavy drinking, and perhaps even a bit of extortion. Yes, he theoretically could blow the whistle on the whole world of phony space programs, BUT, the powers that be simply weren't going to let that happen. At some point, the decision was made to eliminate the "loose end", and as a bonus, the country would gain a permanent hero, and Gagarin would enter that pantheon ever young as well. Today, in Russia, Gagarin is still considered one of the nations greatest heroes, and is loved by all.

A PIPE COLLECTION, STERLING SILVER...Photo to the right shows hallmarks, possibly an expensive collection, it looks like each one has been embellished with Sterling, with the one exception the hand-carved Lenin pipe. A work of art, you can be the first to smoke it! Not sure what the neighbors will say, but if they ask, you can always just say it's Cramer from television!

FRONT AND BACK of a very old picture of the extended royal family...

The best-known royal family of all, the Windsor's of England, also trace their lineage to the same Germanic royals of the Holy Roman Empire that the Romanov's of Russia also trace their roots to. Few modern people realize what a small clique the business of European Royalty was! Ancient notions of "blue blood" of course reinforced arranged marriages and alliances that have left their mark on the world to this day. By the way, the English monarchs real surname is quite Germanic, Saxe-Coburg-Gothe. It was changed to the more English sounding name of Windsor in 1917 due to anti-German sentiment during World War I.

THE ROMANOV'S

1917: Not so long ago, in this pivotal year in history, could anyone have imagined that the once powerful Romanov's of Russia would be dead the following year. Brutally murdered on the night of July 16, 1918, the entire family, along with their doctor, three servants and the family dog, died at the hands of the Bolsheviks.

Speaking of Faberge...

A wonderful collection of treasures...

THE SUPER LIMITED EDITION IMPERIAL FABERGE POCKET WATCH !!

This marvelous pocket watch must surely rank as one of the most fabulous Faberge pieces ever made! ABSOLUTELY PRISTINE, NEVER USED, with it's box, COA, papers. Embellished with 24K GOLD plating, and a genuine Sapphire center stone, it comes with an incredible watch stand right out of Fantasy. A "skeleton" arrangement means you can see the watch works right through the glass dial! The heavy gold-plate chain comes with it. Even it's box, blue-satin lined, is to the highest Franklin Mint standards. VERY FEW EXIST, SUPER LIMITED EDITION!!!

BRING ON THE WINE!!

WHEN YOU ARE CELEBRATING WINNING THIS ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME COLLECTION, be sure to have your Faberge BOTTLE-TOPPER HANDY! It is out of the Imperial Faberge Collection, a blue pine-cone on top of a gold-plated stopper. With it's box and papers of course. NEVER USED!!

ONLY 2000 MADE, WORLDWIDE, 1989

THE "5-IN-ONE" GAME TABLE

POSSIBLY THE MOST AMBITIOUS FRANKLIN MINT ISSUE, OF ALL TIME!! Most have seen their incredible Monopoly sets, and other limited-edition releases, but you may not recall that back in 1989, The Franklin Mint came out with the Imperial Faberge 5-in-One Game Set, and had collectors falling over themselves to reserve one. ONLY 2,000 WERE EVER RELEASED!! Certainly one of the smallest releases ever, but one of the reasons the popular set never made a comeback was because the tables apparently did not ship very well. Many were damaged in-transit, and it became prohibitively expensive to continue. Today, very, very few sets are complete, as would be expected, but even fewer have preserved their original table. In fact, some went so far as to have tables specially made for the pieces, since no tables ever came available, after waiting literally years for one to come up!

Our table, and set really does not appear to have ever been played with. Note the photo of the green rolls in the drawer, the chips have never even been unwrapped! The DOMINOES, covered in heavy 24K gold, are amazing, and we notice that you can find people selling INDIVIDUAL dominoes from this set for as much as $25 EACH (depending upon the number perhaps). NO, we wouldn't recommend breaking these up, they're COMPLETE, never played with! But, it just goes to show you the value people place on these highly desirable works of art, with so few available in the world. The CHESS pieces are stunning! Pick one up, and you will feel the heavy weight! Complete, and also looks as if never played with. The thing we note is that there is no board, perhaps one of the things that never made it during shipping so many years ago, hard to say. Yes, it could be replaced, but we should warn you that it may take some time to find one come available. We were also unable to open one of the drawers. One side drawer is for White, the other for Black chess pieces. But, there is an original box that houses the entire set. Backgammon, also, NEVER USED, even gold and silver pegs are here, and both sets of dice. But it may be that there was originally a peg-board, we don't see it. Perhaps other small things we didn't notice, but this is still largely very well intact, and the playing pieces in unheard of pristine condition. Speaking of condition, the table, as would be expected, is not perfect and does have some issues. Corners, and a couple surface scratches look as if someone attempted a bit of repair, but it doesn't look professional. Still feels quite solid, but probably could easily be cleaned up by anyone who deals with wooden surfaces. See photos below...

HUGE GAMING COLLECTION

HUNDREDS OF REAL SILVER CASINO LIMITED-EDITION "STRIKES"!!

CASINO CHIP COLLECTION, AND MORE!!

CASINO ROYALE, GENUINE JAMES BOND $1 MILLION MARKER FROM MOVIE!!

WE KID YOU NOT, THIS SUPER RARE PIECE WAS LIKELY HANDLED BY "JAMES BOND" HIMSELF!! MAYBE YOU'VE SEEN THE MOVIE? This is an ACTUAL Million Dollar marker from the movie. Very, very few exist, only a handful were specially made for the production. Surprisingly, it was manufactured to the highest real industry standards, it is a heavy piece! How few of us will ever get to handle one of these! Some high-denomination chips too.

NOT QUITE AS RARE, but still very Limited Edition, there is a genuine $100 marker from the very first annual "VegasChips" Poker Tournament! Today, Poker Tournaments are all the rage as the younger generation has discovered the game. This is a real historic piece, sure to climb in collector value in the years to come...ONLY 200 WERE ISSUED!!

ABOVE, BABE RUTH, BELOW, BILL COSBY, AND MORE...

THE FAMOUS "MARILYN MONROE" SILVER STRIKE

INVEST IN .999 SILVER!! If you're not familiar with these, then you are either too young, or weren't frequenting Casinos much over a decade ago when these were being issued by all the best casinos, not only in Las Vegas, but other locations as well. Many are actually marked ".999" silver of course, but even the ones that aren't are still silver. NONE of these are plated, such as perhaps similar looking ones put out by the cruise lines a few years back. These are all SOLID! Although, the rings around are probably not (and plated with 24K gold), it obviously didn't legally stop them from still making the .999 claim. So, call it some "free" gold too! Seriously, these are highly sought after today, not only for their high silver "bullion" value, but because collectors know how scarce many of them are. Virtually all of them are true Limited Editions, and while most will bear the standard $10 denomination, every one of them cost substantially MORE than that!

THE ONLY WAY TO GET THESE ORIGINALLY was to WIN it the "hard way", by pumping the slot machines with money! With a Ten Dollar face value, do the "casino math", and then guess how much each of these actually cost on average. It might surprise you! Today, there are issues that are impossible to find, such as the true Marilyn Monroe issue, as an example. Individual coins can often run $50, $100 or more!!

HUNDREDS OF THEM!! Just the pure silver value here is tremendous of course, but realize this is not just a typical "accumulation". You can find "collections" here and there, and too often they are comprised of the same common material, repeated. THIS COLLECTION IS VIRTUALLY ALL DIFFERENT!! We have never seen anything like it. Just the original 1980's and 90's acquisition cost probably exceeded $10,000!!! Condition comments: Well taken care of. Plastic protectors scratchy perhaps, as would be expected, and maybe only a few with plastic cracking here and there. Coins themselves appear SUPERB.

AND DON'T FORGET THE OLD CASINO CHIP COLLECTION TOO! YOU GET IT ALL!!

It's all here, everything you see, some close-ups above so you can get a feel for the kind of stuff here. By the way, some of these casinos no longer exist! In case you don't know, these old chips are highly collectable, with premiums even paid over the original face value, and in some cases significantly more! Collectors can really go crazy over some of the super special releases in this collection, notice how many were special event? If you are a collector, you know how hard it is to find some of these!

YOU WILL NOT FIND A COLLECTION LIKE THIS AGAIN PERHAPS IN YOUR LIFETIME!
