WHAT A GREAT FIND!
HERE IS A VINTAGE 1930's MARINE MODEL COMPANY "VIRGINIA PRIVATEER" MODEL BOAT
THIS BOAT WAS FOUND IN THE BEGINNING STAGES WITH ORIGINAL BOX, DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS, BLUEPRINTS & FITTINGS. ALL LOOKS TO BE IN GOOD ORDER & SOLID, ALTHOUGH THE PAINT BOTTLES HAVE DRIED UP. BOX MEASURES 22 1/4" BY 5". (relisted due to no response or payment from previous auction winner)
"In the early years of the American Republic, our government lacked finances to build an adequate navy. To offset this, commissions were given private individuals to ravage enemy shipping. This model is an excellent example of the ships used. Built to a scale of 3/16" to the foot, it occupies a space 24" long and 22" high."
