SILHOUETTE HORSE ARROW WEATHERVANE LIGHTNING ROD
Up for auction is an antique silhouette running horse weathervane arrow. The arrow front is a cast iron, very uncommon, Smith-Hewitt & Co. arrow. The overall lenght is 24" long. Measurement of the horse is 7" by 11 1/2".
This arrow is a bit of a mystery. One side has 2 wires (extending off the arrow) that are soldered onto the flat horse body. This original horse body appears to have deteriorated and was missing 1/2 its front leg. Someone then cut a new silhouette and adhered it to the original. The whole thing was then painted black.
Overall, this is a very attractive, old running horse and will display very nicely.
