Gorgeous Set of 6 Early Madeira White Linen Dinner Napkins

ENTIRELY and EXPERTLY HAND MADE!
Pristine snowy white finer quality Irish linen expertly embellished with early Madeira whitework hand embroidery and lots of Broderie Anglaise french eyelets. Gorgeous pattern. These are snowy white, not creamy white as some pics show (bad lighting)

The fancy scalloped edges are fabulously hand embroidered in the Caseado Bastido Scalloped Blanket Buttonhole stitch, the most difficult of the 19 Madeira stitches, and reserved for only the most highly skilled Madeira embroideresses

This is EARLY c1900-30's Madeira Whitework at it’s finest! , These early pieces really show the strong influence of the English handwork that was brought to the island and helped create the Madeira embroidery industry on an international level. Of all the beautiful Madeira linens, this early whitework has always been my personal favorite.
