Pair Chinese Cloisonne Gilt Flask Vases of Rare Quatrefoil Form, Circa Late 19th to Early 20th Century. With rims, borders and cloisons of gold gilt over a copper base, the pair of vases are decorated in enamels of Famille Verte palette on a blue ground. The slightly domed quatrefoil-shape panels depict Chinese landscapes of willow and pine trees along a riverbank with rocks, mountains and clouds, enclosed within a scallop pattern field. Each image is unique but mirrors the other as a true pair. Sides of the vases decorated with scrolling lotus design with blooms of pastel colors, green leaves and white scrollwork. The neck lobed and decorated with a stylized ruyi-head band at the quatrefoil-shape mouth rim. The foot-rim similarly lobed and flared to an inset base of gold gilt. Each ridge and crevice of the vase edged in gilt. The interior of solid blue enamel.
Height each: 32 cm (12.5 in.), Width: 18 cm (7 in.)
Condition is very good. Very fine kiln marks from original firing and some wear to the gilt. No dents or chips.
