ANTIQUE BOOK COLLECTION

"The Illustrated Life of Washington"  is from 1860 and it does have some condition issure (see the photos), but amazingly, looks mostly intact. Better preserved. This book is from before the Civil War and was sold only by subscription! Going through the book you will see numerous pen painting in full color. We were told it is a "rare" book, but that's a relative term, and we certainly haven't had time to look it up. If anyone out there knows more, please let us know, we'll gladly post the info for everyone to see.  (Yes, the nice Bookends are included too!)

 These next two weren't always together, but they have been kept that way for years, and they do in fact "go" together exquisitely. So few books such as this survive, you may literally never find another set like it in this condition.

 It's interesting reading books written many decades ago, it sort of feels like a Time Capsule. It's like taking a step back in time, to see what their concerns were, how they expressed themselves...People spoke differently back then! It was truly a different world!  It's the "HISTORY OF THE BIBLE" and it's splendidly illustrated throughout.

This lovely old Mantle Clock RUNS nicely, Good condition for it's age (see the photos), includes the winding key of course.  It is surprisingly heavy!  Marked "New Haven"...

 Civil War Engravings

OWN A PIECE OF AMERICAN HISTORY!!! 2 unique pieces both framed. Looks to be from the Civil War. Both look in excellent shape considering the age but does show some signs of wear. One depicts the ship Nashville burning and the other is in regards to the Confederate General Robert E. Lee.

  1ST EDITION MEIN KAMPF 

EXAMINE the photos above and below. A real rarity, Yes it's a 1933 1st American English Edition of the infamous Mein Kampf by Adolf Hitler. These are extremely hard to find it would be a few more years before everyone knew who Hitler was and in this book it details his plans for Germany and what he intended to. See the close-ups, this is an incredible find!

These are high quality, investment coins.  And, we should emphasize, especially for those not familiar with coins, almost all of them have been certified by the TOP grading companies around. Each coin is superbly beautiful... This is NOT second-rate dealer overstock, it is a solid investment portfolio! 

Massive value on these coins. There are many different ways to get a value of a coin some use the Red Book, some use the Greysheets, and there are several other valuation services out there. We valued some of these according to Collectors Universe Online Guide ( also known as the PCGS website).  Some of the coins had very large retail values a lot were $500+. The top coin we seen was even valued at $3,600! This collection contains some coins that you want to keep.

MINT STATE SILVER DOLLARS... All three are in the famous "OLD GREEN HOLDERS",  These coins are highly prized by Coin Collectors because they are likely to be upgraded 1 To 2 grades.

 "TOP 100" Morgans. Both are in lower grades so if these are in the top 100 there can't be to many of these coins around. Don't know the value of these but are worth researching.

A WORD ABOUT CERTIFIED COIN VALUES: A seasoned coin collector or dealer may want skip this section, but for the rest, this may help in determining values more consistent with reality. Unfortunately, there is much misinformation concerning this topic. While pcgs.com is regarded as a very reliable place to check values, it must be remembered that those values are for coins that THEY certify. If another grading service has been used, typically, the values MUST be considered to be LOWER. How much lower? That depends on the service. Coin dealers use a newsletter known as the "gray sheet" or CDN (Coin Dealer Newsletter) to find values more in line with wholesale. You may never be shown this if you ventured into your local coin shop. However, it is useful for our purposes here. In a "box" on the front page, statistics are kept about the top grading services. For example, PCGS and NGC usually get between 85 – 94% of their listed values. They are somewhat regarded as a benchmark in excellence. Next down the list comes ANACS and ICG (a newer grading service that has earned a good reputation).  While ICG or ANACS coins may generally not be regarded as highly as PCGS, it certainly doesn't mean those coins are third rate, not at all, but it does mean that they will often trade at lower dollars. In the case of ICG now, the dealer-to-dealer, "sight-unseen" rates might average about 83% compared to PCGS.  But they can be lower too, much lower, depending on the grading company, and there are many others, some with good reputations, and others not so good. Please keep these things in mind as you make your evaluations. If possible, do your own research, be an informed bidder.  Incredible potential here!

These additional coins are all from various third-party companies. Typically, these coins sell for less than what a similiar coin from PCGS or NGC would sell for. Some believe that these companies grade their coins with a different standard. We are not coin grading experts, and we do not endorse any grading services, we sell estates. Please examine these coins carefully and if you have any questions ASK.

The great thing about these coins are that they are all over Ebay and there is a HUGE market for these coins, they resale extremely well and are very profitable for resellers. But please remember just because a coin is graded perfect doesn't make it perfect.

So, there is a grand total of 138 slabbed coins (102 can be considered "certified") in this estate!!
