The majolica of Choisy-le-Roi, Sarreguemines, Gilardoni among others, contributed to the big successes that had the majolicas production in Europe during the XIXth century. However, the works of Choisy le Roi were characterized, from the beginning, for an ingrained vocation for the excellence. In the late 1850's, like Sarreguemines, Choisy-le-Roi added majolica to their production and would continue manufacturing majolica until 1910.
Hippolyte Boulenger was the art director at the pottery. The factory's work was some of the most delicate produced in France. And was renamed after the experiment and research of Red vibrant and orange colors.
