Era and History of Item
"Your flatware is the “Perles” pattern made by the French firm of Christofle. It is silver plate and has been in production since
1890. Your pieces are of more recent vintage…probably within
the last 10-15 years.
Christofle is considered France’s Tiffany’s…it is a maker of high quality goods that command a high price. This pattern is still in production today and retails for about $300 a place setting depending upon where it is purchased.
That said, this is the classic example of an item being worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Sterling silver flatware can be bought on the secondary market for less than the price quoted above..…and as this pattern has had a long production history and is plentiful there is not a lot of demand for it. It would be reasonable to expect to receive about half the full retail price for it if you wanted to sell it.
Storage and Preservation
Clean your flatware with a good commercial silver product. I recommend "Wenol” available at “Williams Sonoma” and “Restoration Hardware” to baseline it and get it right. I then would recommend “Hagerty’s Silver Foam” for maintenance."
